CONSITUTIONAL
There
were certain basic rules that the citizens and government have follow. All such
rules tighter are called Constitution.
GUIDING VALUES OF THE INDIAN CONSTITUTION
To understand the Philosophy of the Indian Constitution, you need to understand the preamble of the
constitution.
The
preamble of the Constitution reads like a poem on democracy.
It
contains the philosophy on which the entire constitution has been built. It
provides a standard to examine and evaluate any law and action of government,
to find out whether it is good or bad.
It
is the soul of India Constitution.
WE, THE PEOPLE OF
INDIA, having
Solemnly resolved
to constitute India
into a SOVEREIGN,
SOCIALIST, SECULAR,
DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC
and to secure to
all its citizens:
JUSTICE, social,
economic and political,
LIBERTY of
thought, expression, belief,
Faith and worship.
EQUALITY of status
and of opportunity
and to promote among them all.
FRATERNITY assuring
the dignity of the
individuals and the
unity and integrity
of the Nation.
IN OUR CONSTITUTUENT ASSEMBLY
This twenty-sixth day of November, 1949, do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION.
WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA
This
statement means that the constitution was not handed to us any king or by any
outside power, rather it was drawn and enacted by the people of India trough
their representatives.
SOVEREIGN
This sovereign means that India is a free country and no external power can dictate the government of India.
People
have supreme right to make decisions any type issues.
The
constituents Assembly rejected that proposal and preferred for full freedom.
SOCIALIST
The
Socialism which is being followed in India is so what different than what was
being in various communist countries at that time.
The
India Socialism was about the generation or wealth by the society and sharing
of wealth equally by the society.
It
was decided that the government would regulate the ownership of land and
industry to reduce Socioeconomic Inequalities.
SECULAR
There
is no official religion in India no religion gets special status from the
government of India. Citizens have complete freedom to follow any religion. All
religion are treated with equal respect by the government.
DEMOCRATIC
India
would adopt a form of government in which people would elect their rules and
hold accountable. The government is run according to some basic rules.
REPUBLIC
This
term means that head of the State i.e.- the President of India is an elected
person and if is not a hereditary position.
JUSTICE
Citizens
cannot be discriminated on the ground of caste, religion and gender. The
government would work for the welfare of poor and oppressed So that Social
Inequalities could be reduced.
LIBERTY
Citizens
are given the liberty to express their opinions in a way which is found
suitable by the. There are no unreasonable restrictions on the liberty of
citizens.
ENEQULITY
All
citizens are equal before the law, irrespective of difference in socio-economic
conditions. Every citizen would be provided equal opportunities to improve
their Socioeconomic Conditions.
FRATERNITY
Each
citizen should respect the spirit of brotherhood and no one should treat a
fellow citizens as inferior.
